OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION
TO KEN SUMMERS FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
COMMUNITY AS CITY COUNCILMEMBER
WHEREAS, Ken Summers was elected as a City Councilmember on April 4, 2017, took
office on April 11, 2017, and has served on City Council during that time; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure Councilmember Summers has served as the Council Liaison
to the Affordable Housing Board, Commission on Disability, Parking Advisory Board, Parks and
Recreation Board, Senior Advisory Board, Zoning Board of Appeals; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure Councilmember Summers has also served as a member of
the Ad Hoc Strategic Housing Committee, Colorado Municipal League (CML) Policy Committee,
Downtown Development Authority (Alternate), Election Code Committee, Ethics Review Board,
Finance Committee, Legislative Review Committee, North College Urban Renewal Ad Hoc
Committee, Urban Renewal Authority Board and Poudre Fire Authority Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, Councilmember Summers has been a strong advocate of
community unity while honoring diversity; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Summers served as a champion for fiscal responsibility,
thoughtful policy making and providing solutions that make an impact on individuals and supports
our business community; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Summers helped narrow the focus of the 10-year Strategic
Plan and was a leader on West Nile Virus policies; and
WHEREAS,Councilmember Summers has shown his strong and continued commitment to
our community, serving one four-year term as Councilmember for District 3 from 2017 until 2021.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Ken Summers for his
service and contributions to the community as District 3 Councilmember.
