OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH GEFROH ASSOCIATES, INC FOR PLANNING SERVICES
ASSOCIATED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE
MARTINEZ PARK FARM
WHEREAS, in September, 1978, the City entered into an agreement with
Gefroh Associates, Inc to perform preliminary planning investigations
concerning the remodeling and improving of the farm at Martinez Park,
and
WHEREAS, the preliminary planning investigations were completed in May
of 1979 and a Conceptual Plan was provided to the City by Gefroh Associ-
ates, Inc , and
WHEREAS, with the passage of the Community Park Bond Issue in April of
1981 , funds are now available to pursue a final development plan/contract
and to continue with construction, and
WHEREAS, in connection with the final construction, the City will need
to contract for professional planning services which include the prepara-
tion of final plans and specifications for the development of the Martinez
Park Farm, and
WHEREAS, within the guidelines of the adopted Capital Project Manage-
ment Control System, consultants retained for conceptual preliminary design
may be retained for subsequent design phases of the project if performance
is acceptable, and
WHEREAS, Gefroh Associates, Inc performed satisfactorily in preparing
the Conceptual Plan, and
WHEREAS, in order for the project to proceed smoothly, it is in the
best interest of the City to contract with Gefroh Associates, Inc to
perform the additional planning services during construction, and
WHEREAS, at the request of City Council , the Parks and Recreation
Board held a public meeting on October 25, 1983 to receive public input and
comment regarding the appropriateness of the renovation and development of
The Farm at Lee Martinez Park, and
WHEREAS, at the public meeting, the citizens who addressed the Board
were in favor of the renovation and development of The Farm, and, after
discussion, the Board voted to reaffirm the Lee Martinez Park Master Plan
and The Farm concept and recommend to City Council to adopt a resolution
authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Gefroh Asso-
ciates, Inc , for planning services associated with the development of The
Farm
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into an agreement with Gefroh Associates, Inc for planning services
associated with the development of the Martinez Park Farm In considera-
tion of said services, the City will pay to Gefroh Associates, Inc a sum
not to exceed Forty-Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars (E49 ,800 )
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
15th day of November, A D 1983
