FINDINGS AND RESOLUTION
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
CONCERNING THE PETITION FOR THE FORMATION OF AN
URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY IN THE CITY
Heretofore a Petition signed by at least 25 registered electors in the
City was duly filed with the City Clerk setting forth that there is a need
for an Urban Renewal Authority to function in the City of Fort Collins
Pursuant to C R S 1973, Section 31-25-104(1)(a), the City Clerk gave
notice by publication that a public hearing would be conducted by the City
Council on this date in order to determine the need for such an autho-
rity in the City Such hearing has been held and the City Council has
heard the evidence presented by all parties who desired to be heard con-
cerning the need for an Urban Renewal Authority in the City of Fort Col-
lins The City Council , being thus advised, now finds and declares as
follows
1 That slum or blighted areas do exist in the City
2 That the acquisition, clearance, rehabilitation, conservation,
development or redevelopment or a combination thereof of such slum or
blighted areas is necessary in the interest of the public health, safety,
morals or welfare of the residents of the City of Fort Collins
3 That it is in the public interest that an Urban Renewal Authority
for the City of Fort Collins be created and that such authority exercise
the powers provided to be exercised by such authority in Part 1, Title 31,
C R S 1973, as amended

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS

1 That the foregoing Findings of the City Council are hereby adop-
2 That there is hereby established an Urban Renewal Authority in
the City of Fort Collins pursuant to Part 1, Title 31, C R S 1973, as
amended, to be known as the Fort Collins Urban Renewal Authority
3 That the City Council of the City of Fort Collins is hereby
designated as the Urban Renewal Authority of the City of Fort Collins
4 That notice of this resolution be, and hereby is, given to the
Mayor of the City of Fort Collins who is hereby directed to file with the
Clerk of the City of Fort Collins a certificate of the appointment and
designation of the City Council of the City of Fort Collins as the Urban
Renewal Authority of the City of Fort Collins
