OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
TARANTO, STANTON & TAGGE
FOR DESIGN AND SERVICES DURING CONSTRUCTION
OF THE ANHEUSER-BUSCH WATERLINE
WHEREAS, on December 31, 1982, the City of Fort Collins entered into a
Master Agreement with Anheuser-Busch, Inc. ; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of said Master Agreement,
the City of Fort Collins Water Utility is required to begin design of a
water line running from approximately one-half mile NE of the intersection
of Overland Trail and Vine Drive to the Anheuser-Busch plant site; and
WHEREAS, twenty firms responded to the City' s Request for Proposal/
Qualifications issued by the Purchasing Department for the engineering
design services necessary for the construction of the water line; and
WHEREAS, the selection committee interviewed four firms and recommends
Taranto, Stanto & Tagge as a result of their strong proposal , technical
expertise and endorsement by previous clients ; and
WHEREAS, the costs of design and services during construction shall
not exceed Two Hundred and Fifty-Six Thousand Dollars ($256,000) ; and
WHEREAS, funds are available from revenue bonds sold by the City which
are guaranteed by Anheuser-Busch and from the Water Fund; and
WHEREAS, funds for construction services will become available only
upon approval of the final design; and
WHEREAS, the City will retain the authority to end engineering ser-
vices at any time; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to §2-66 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins, no
professional services agreement in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars
($20,000) shall be entered into until approved by the City Council in an
open Council meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into a professional services agreement with Taranto, Stanton & Tagge for
design and engineering services during construction of the Anheuser-Busch
water line, said services to be performed by Taranto, Stanton & Tagge for a
sum not to exceed Two Hundred and Fifty-Six Thousand Dollars ($256,000).
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City
of Fort Collins held this 4th day of December, 1984.
