OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO TERMINATE AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE PLATTE RIVER POWER AUTHORITY FOR THE
LEASE OF PLEASANT VALLEY AND LAKE CANAL WATER
TO THE AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the City entered into an agreement dated April 1 , 1980 with
Platte River Power Authority (PRPA) providing PRPA the option of leasing
Pleasant Valley and Lake Canal water from the City; and
WHEREAS, PRPA desired this water to provide a back-up supply of water
for the initial filling of the Rawhide Reservoir; and
WHEREAS, water conditions and pumping schedules have been favorable
and Rawhide Reservoir is now nearly full; and
WHEREAS, the reuse plan and other permanent supplies have been firmed
up and will provide a plentiful supply of water to Rawhide Reservoir; and
WHEREAS, PRPA has no further need for the Pleasant Valley and Lake
water and desires to terminate the agreement; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that the City and PRPA continue to cooperate
on water matters of mutual concern and benefit.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Council of the City of Fort
Collins that the agreement dated April 1 , 1980 between the City and PRPA
concerning the option of PRPA to rent Pleasant Valley and Lake Canal water
be, and it hereby is, terminated, effective January 10, 1984.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
17th day of January, A.D. 1984.
