OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONSULTING AGREEMENT
FOR FRANCHISE NEGOTIATIONS WITH
THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY OF COLORADO
WHEREAS, the present Franchise Agreement between the City and the
Public Service Company of Colorado was approved by the voters in 1967; and
WHEREAS, said Franchise Agreement is due to expire in October, 1987;
and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has determined that
it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City that extensive
franchise negotiations be entered into between the City and the Public
Service Company of Colorado for the purpose of the development of a
Franchise Agreement for future years; and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that it is in the best interests
of the citizens of the City that Leonard M. Campbell , Esq. and certain of
his associates who specialize in matters pertaining to public utility
franchises, be engaged to assist the City staff in such negotiations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute a
consulting agreement with the firm of Gorsuch, Kirgis, Campbell , Walker and
Grover for the purpose of engaging the services of Leonard M. Campbell ,
Esq. and his associates who specialize in public utility franchises to
assist the City in negotiations for a franchise agreement between the City
and the Public Service Company of Colorado for a fee not to exceed Twenty
Thousand Dollars ($20,000.).
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 1st day of July, A.D. 1986.
