HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-044-03/01/1983-APPROVING THE AMENDED BYLAWS OF THE LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION RESOLUTION 83- 44 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROVING THE AMENDED BYLAWS OF THE LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION WHEREAS, by Ordinance No 6, 1981, the Council of the City of Fort Collins established the Landmark Preservation Commission and invested it with certain duties and powers, and WHEREAS, said ordinance provided for the Commission to make and adopt bylaws to govern its work and for the conduct of its business, and further provided that all such bylaws shall be approved by the Council by resolu- tion before becoming effective, and WHEREAS, the duties and powers of the Landmark Preservation Commission have been amended by Ordinance No 28 , 1983, adopted by the Council of the City of Fort Collins, and WHEREAS, the amendment to the duties and powers of the Landmark Preservation Commission necessitates amendments to the bylaws of said Commission NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the amendment to the bylaws submitted by the Landmark Preser- vation Commission be, and the same hereby are, approved Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins held this 15th day of March, 1983 Mayor Ma t ty Clerk LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO BY-LAWS ARTICLE IV - COMMISSION MEMBERSHIP Section II The Cultural Affairs Director and the Director of Planning and Development or his designee shall be two (2) ex officio, non-voting members ARTICLE V - OFFICERS Section I The officers shall consist of a Chairperson and such other officers as the Commission may require ARTICLE VI - COMMITTEES Section I The Chairperson may appoint any necessary committees to assist the Commis- sion ARTICLE VII - MEETINGS Section I The Commission shall hold regular monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 3 30 p m Special meetings may be held upon the giving of at least three (3) days' notice All meetings shall be open to the public Section III Delete Section IV The Commission shall recommend to the Council that it request the resig- nation of a member for missing three (3) consecutive meetings or any four (4) regularly scheduled meetings in a calendar year Section V All questions of order not provided for in the bylaws, shall be decided by Robert' s Rules of Order, latest edition ARTICLE VIII - RECORDS Section I Formal minutes of each meeting will be taken and maintained by the Secre- tary of the Comission Section III All Commission files shall be maintained by the Secretary of the Commission in the office of the Department of Planning and Development ARTICLE IX - AMENDMENTS TO BYLAWS Section I Proposed amendments may be presented at any regularly scheduled meeting and voted upon at the next regularly scheduled meeting The vote of a majority of the voting members of the Commission shall be necessary to approve any amendment
