HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-151-08/15/2003-AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF COLORADO DIVISI RESOLUTION 89-151 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF COLORADO DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF COLLEGE AVENUE AND CHERRY STREET IN THE CITY WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins, Burlington/Northern Railroad Company and the State of Colorado Division of Highways have determined that it is necessary and desirable to improve and upgrade the traffic signal at the intersection of College Avenue and Cherry Street in the City to better coordinate traffic movement with the operation of railroad gates to be installed by the Burlington/Northern Railroad Company at the intersection of its railroad line and North College Avenue; and WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the State of Colorado Division of Highways regarding the purchase and installation of traffic signal equipment and reimbursement to the City by the State of all costs therefor. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the State of Colorado Department of Highways for the City's purchase and installation of upgraded traffic signal equipment at the intersection of College Avenue and Cherry Street in the City, at an initial total cost to the City not to exceed Twenty-two Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty Dollars ($22,850) ; provided, however, that the full amount of said cost shall be reimbursed to the City by the State of Colorado.
