OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF AN EAST RAM EJECT TRAILER
FROM EAST MANUFACTURING COMPANY
AS A SOLE SOURCE PROVIDER
WHEREAS,East Manufacturing Company makes the only compatible system of this type;
and
WHEREAS,East Ram Eject trailers are a crucial part of the City's bio-solids beneficial reuse
prngram;-anti
WHEREAS, an additional trailer is needed by Resource Recovery; and
WHEREAS, East Manufacturing Company has offered the trailer at the same price as was
paid per trailer in 1986; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-160 (d) (1) a. of the Code of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the
Purchasing Agent to negotiate the purchase of supplies and service without utilizing a competitive
process where the Purchasing Agent determines that a particular material or service is available from
only one (1) responsible source; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has submitted the requisite justification to the City
Manager for approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has reviewed and approved the justification for this
acquisition; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-160(d)(3)requires City Council approval prior to any purchase from
a sole source provider of goods costing more than Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to purchase one (1)East Ram Eject
trailer from East Manufacturing Company in the amount of Fifty Six Thousand Six Hundred Forty-
nine Thousand Dollars($56,649).
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council he this 5th day of December,
A.D. 1995.
