HomeMy WebLinkAbout1986-049-04/15/1986-AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF COLORADO FOR THE ADMINISTRAT RESOLUTION 86-49 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF COLORADO FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF FEDERAL AID URBAN SYSTEM FUNDS WHICH ARE TO BE USED TO PARTIALLY FUND THE MASON STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT WHEREAS, the pavement on Mason Street from Laurel Street to Mountain Avenue is in need of repair; and WHEREAS, tests have determined that an asphalt overlay would not be an adequate solution to the problem; and WHEREAS, the best solution is to reconstruct the driving lanes by removing the pavement which has failed, patching those areas with full depth pavement and overlaying the entire street width; and WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the Mason Street Reconstruction Project is Four Hundred Forty Thousand Dollars ($440,000.) ; and WHEREAS, funds are available through a Federal Aid Urban Systems (FAUS) grant which would provide seventy-eight percent (78%) of the monies needed for the project; and WHEREAS, the remaining twenty-two percent (22%) in City funds required, or One Hundred Three Thousand Six Hundred Sixty-Four Dollars ($103,664) is available in the 1986 Street Rehabilitation Capital Project; and WHEREAS, to obtain the Three Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand Three Hundred and Thirty-Six Dollars ($336,336.) in FAUS funds the City must enter into a contract with the State of Colorado for the administration of the funds and the provision of project review for the Federal government. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into a contract with the State of Colorado for the administration of Federal Aid Urban System funds in the amount of Three Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand Three Hundred and Thirty-Six Dollars (E336,336.) which are to be used to partially fund the Mason Street Reconstruction Project.
