INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH LARIMER COUNTY,
THE CITY OF LOVELAND AND THE TOWNS OF ESTES PARK,
BERTHOUD, WELLINGTON
AND
THE PROVISION OF MUTUAL N ATH FOR
AID
WHEREAS, it is desirable that Larimer County and cities and towns
located therein should aid and assist each other by the exchange of
services and facilities, including but not limited to fire, police,
medical and health, communications and transportation services and
facilities, to cope with the problems of warning, evacuation, rescue,
relief, rehabilitation and construction which would arise in the event of a
natural or manmade disaster; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that an appropriate agreement
be executed for the exchange of such mutual aid; and
WHEREAS, Sections 29-1-203 and 24-33.5-713, C.R.S. , authorize the
parties to enter into an intergovernmental agreement for furnishing mutual
aid in coping with disasters; and
WHEREAS, under such agreement, the party furnishing aid would have
sole discretion over what resources and services can be reasonably
provided.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Mayor is authorized to enter into a mutual aid agreement
with the County of Larimer, the City of Loveland, and the Towns of Estes
Park, Berthoud, Wellington and Timnath.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 20th day of January, 1987.
