HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-108-08/06/1991-COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY CSU IGA TRANSIT CENTER RESOLUTION 91-108 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY ESTABLISHING A TRANSIT CENTER ON THE COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS WHEREAS, in April of 1990, the City Council approved the 1991-1995 Transit Development Program which identified Colorado State University students as a primary market for transit services; and WHEREAS, the City staff and the staff at Colorado State University have worked to develop a transit center in the heart of the Colorado State University campus; and WHEREAS, the City desires to participate in the creation of this transit center in order to better serve the transportation needs of its citizens; and WHEREAS, Article II , Section 16, of the City Charter provides that the City Council may, by ordinance or resolution, enter into contracts with other governmental bodies to furnish governmental services and to make charges for such services, or to enter into cooperative or joint activities with other governmental bodies; and WHEREAS, the City's participation in the creation of the transit center through this intergovernmental agreement is in the best interests of the citizens of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into an intergovernmental agreement between the City and Colorado State University for the creation, maintenance and operation of a transit center on the Colorado State University campus.
