OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO
PURCHASE A FIBER OPTIC MULTIPLEXOR
WHEREAS, FibreMux Corporation produces a fiber optic multiplexor which
is unique in the industry; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that this multiplexor is the only one
on the market which supports varied protocols; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 8-123 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins, the Purchasing Agent has the power to negotiate purchases of
supplies in cases where it is not practical to secure the purchase of an
item through a formal bid procedure because the purchase is based on
particular individual usage or professional advice; and
WHEREAS, items to be purchased in cases not requiring bidding under
Section 8-123 of the Code at a cost exceeding $20,000 must be approved by
the City Council ; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the Purchasing Agent be, and he hereby is, authorized to
purchase a FibreMux Magnum fiber optic multiplexor from FibreMux
Corporation for a cost not to exceed Forty Thousand Dollars (f40,000) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 20th day of December, A.D. 988.
