OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
MAKING APPOINTMENTS TO THE
FORT COLLINS CONVENTION AND VISITORS' BUREAU
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has authorized the
City Manager to enter into an agreement with the Fort Collins Convention
and Visitors' Bureau; and
WHEREAS, convention and tourist activities are a clean base industry,
generating new income to the local economy; and
WHEREAS, an organized Convention and Visitors' Bureau can offer
professional promotion and coordinated marketing efforts; and
WHEREAS, Bureau activities can attract new conventions and extend the
visits of tourists and visitors to Fort Collins resulting in increased tax
revenues; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins collects a Lodging Tax and has
authorized the expenditure of a portion of those revenues to be allocated
to the contract for services with the Bureau; and
WHEREAS, due to the public funds allocated to the Bureau, City Council
is authorized to make six appointments to the Board of Directors and may
also assist in the formation of the Bureau by confirming recommendations
for the remaining positions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the following named persons are hereby appointed to the Fort
Collins Convention and Visitors' Bureau.
Barbara Liebler (3 years) Kate Caldwell (2 years)
Art Wilcox (3 years) Bruce Freestone (1 year)
Fred Levine (2 years) Terry Sarazin (1 year)
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
3rd day of February, A.D. 1987.
