OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
WITH ROCKY MOUNTAIN CONSULTANTS
WHEREAS, the Lincoln Street Interceptor Sewer was damaged during
recent heavy rainstorms and replacement is necessary this year (instead of
1992 as projected in the five year capital improvements plan) ; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-129 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins (the
Code) authorizes contracts for services of a professional , technical or
consulting nature, the major result of which would yield to the City a
report, plan or similar document upon approval of the City Manager after
evaluation in accordance with the procedure for selection of professionals;
and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has determined that design and
construction engineering services come within the purview of this section
of the Code; and
WHEREAS, in November of 1989, the City issued a request for proposals
for professional services for the Harmony Road Water Transmission Main and
other projects requiring similar qualifications; and
WHEREAS, upon evaluation of the original proposals, in accordance with
the City's procedure, it was determined that Rocky Mountain Consultants
should be selected to perform such work; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the design and construction
services of the Lincoln Street Interceptor Sewer is a project requiring
similar qualifications; and
WHEREAS, the fee for the design portion of the project shall not
exceed Forty-six Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty-eight Dollars ($46,838) ;
and
WHEREAS, the funds for the design portion of the project are available
and appropriated in the Wastewater Fund contingency; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has approved this contract for professional
services; and
WHEREAS, Section 8-129 of the Code requires approval of the City
Council for any such contracts in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars
($20,000) .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the professional services agreement with Rocky Mountain
Consultants for design services for the Lincoln Street Interceptor Sewer,
for a total cost not to exceed Forty-six Thousand Eight Hundred and
Thirty-eight Dollars ($46,838) , is hereby approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a professional services agreement with
Rocky Mountain Consultants for construction engineering services for the
Lincoln Street Interceptor Sewer be approved subject to appropriation of
funds therefor by the City Council .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 5th day of June, A.D. 1990.
