OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY PURCHASING AGENT TO
APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF SUBMERSIBLE OIL INSULATED
VACUUM SWITCHES FROM LEWIS AND ASSOCIATES
AS A SOLE-SOURCE PURCHASE
WHEREAS, Trayer Engineering has custom designed a submersible oil
insulated vacuum switch for the City's electric system in the past; and
WHEREAS, Light and Power has surveyed the switches available; and
WHEREAS, only this particular switch manufactured by Trayer
Engineering will meet the dimensions, design, and submersibility necessary
for use in this electric system; and
WHEREAS, Lewis and Associates is the exclusive sales agent for Trayer
Engineering in Colorado; and
WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted and approved in the Light and Power
Utility budget for 1989; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 8-122, no purchase of any item negotiated
for purchase from a sole-source costing more than Twenty Thousand Dollars
($20,000) shall be made until after approval of the City Council in an open
meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Purchasing Agent be, and he hereby is, authorized to
approve the purchase of four (4) submersible oil insulated vacuum switches
from Lewis and Associates at a total cost of Twenty-One Thousand Seven
Hundred and Twenty Dollars (E21,720) .
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
16th day of May, A.D. , 1989. _
