OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
CHANGING THE NAME OF THE "CATHY FROMME NATURAL AREA"
TO THE "CATHY FROMME PRAIRIE"
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins has acquired 579 acres of land in
southwest Fort Collins for public natural area purposes; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 93-55, Council authorized naming said land
the "Cathy Fromme Natural Area" in honor of former Councilmember Cathy Fromme;
and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Kneeland recommended that the name be modified to
include recognition of the unique prairie ecosystem at the site; and
WHEREAS, City Council requested that the Natural Resources Advisory Board
reconsider the name for the area; and
WHEREAS, on May 5, 1993 the Natural Resources Advisory Board recommended
that the area be renamed the "Cathy Fromme Prairie" ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that the "Cathy Fromme Natural Area" be renamed the "Cathy Fromme Prairie."
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of For
Collins held this 15th day of June, A.D. 1993.
