Public notice is hereby given that the following ordinance was
introduced, read and ordered printed at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, held April 16, 1906.

Be it ordained by the eity Council of the City of Port Collins, Colorado:-
Section 1. No one shall be permitted to wire any building for electric
light, heat or power purposes in this city unless he shall first obtain
from the City council a license to engegi in the business of placing and
installing wires for electric light, heat or power.
Section 2. The city council may, in its discretion, grant a license
to engage in the business of installing wiring for light, heat or power to
any person properly qualified to engage in such business upon the payment
of the sum of �25.00 per annum, in advancs. Such license shall be valid
for the term of one year and shall be non-transferable.
Section 5. The wiring of all buildings in this city for electric light,
heat or power purposes shall hereafter be in conformity with the require-
ments of " The National Electric Code " , being rules and requirements for
the placing and installing of electric wires for light , heat or power, and
shall be subject to the approval of an inspector who shall be a competent
person, appointed by the City �,ouneil, and who shall not be interested in
any way in the business of contracting for the placing or installing of
electric wires for light, heat or power. Such inspector shall be entitled
to the following fees, which shall be paid by the owner of the building
inspected, and upon payment of said fees, said inspector shall, without
further charge, certify in writing the result of his inspection, showing
whether the wiring inspected meets the above requirements or not. For one
to ten outlets, :�)I .00; for each additional outlet, 5 cents; for are lights,
eac4' 25 cents; for motors or generators ( complete )nstallation ) , each
$I.00; sign-wiring and outwiring, one to fifty lights, $I.00; additional
hundred lights or less, 75 centev -
Provided, [fowever, that for thm installation of temporary decorative
lighting in show windows or stores, a fee of Twenty five ( 25) cents shall
be charged.
Section 4, The inspector shall condemn, and orderer repaired, any
electric wiring or appaxktus in, or on, any street , alley or building in
the City of Fort Collins, which, in his opinion , is a menace to life or
property.
Section 5. Any person guilty of violating any of the provisions of
this ordinance, shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not less than
$I0.00 nor more than 40100.00 and costs of suit , and in default of payment
of said fine or costs, such person shall be imprisoned until such fine and
costs are paid, but not to exceed 90 days, for each. offense.
The foregoing ordinance was introduced and read at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, on the I6th.
day of April A. D. I906, and was published i% the Fort Collis Courier
a weekly newspaper of general circulation published in said
city, on the I8th day of April, A. D. I906+t and was passed and
adjourned
adopted by Faid City Council at the regula.rAmeeting thereof held on the
4th day of Yehruary, A. D. I907.
