AN ORDINANCE IN RELATION TO EMPLOYM7 T AND INT7LLIGENCE
OFFICES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons
to open, establish or maintain in this City any intelligence or
employment office for the purpose of procuring or obtaining, for
money or other valuable consideration, any wort, employment or
occupation for persons seeking the same, or in any way to act
as a oroker between employers and -persons seeking work, without
first having obtained a license so to do.
Eec. 2. The license fee for engaging in the business men-
tioned in Section One hereof shall be ��'a ✓/ per year,
payable in advance at the time application is made. Any person
desiring to engage in such business shall make application to
the City Cowicil through the City Clerk for the same, and shall
deposit , at the time of making such application, with the City
Treasurer, the annual fee for such license, to be evidenced
by the receipt of the Treasurer endorsed on such application. If
such application shall be granted, the applicant shall deposit
with the City Treasurer a bond in the penal sum of Two Thousand
( $2000) Dollars with two or more sureties to be approved by the
City Clerk. Such bond shall be made payable to the City of Tort
Collins, and shall be conditioned that the person applying for
such Idodnse will comply with the provisions of this ordinance
and of "An Act to F.egulate the ' usiness of Employment and In-
telligence Agents, and Repealing all Acts or Parts of Acts In-
consistent therewith", approved April 8, 1893. And further that
the applicant shall pay all darnages occasioned to any person
by reason of any mis-statement; mis-representation, fraud or
deceit of the applicant, his agents or employees in carrying
on the business for which the license issues.
Sec. 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of
Section One hereof, shall,upon conviction, for each and every
offense, be subjected to a fine: not exceeding One Hundred
( �W'100) Dollars.
