RELATING TO BROI.ERS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS:
Section 1. It shall be ur4awful for any person, persons or
corporation to engage in or carry on within the corporate limits
of the City of Fort Collins, the business of a broker, which
business is hereby defined to be and to consist of buying or
selling stocks, bonds and other forms of securities, or a
general brokerage business, on commission, without first having
obtained a license therefor as hereinafter provided.
Section 3. Any person, persons or corporation desiring
to engage in the business of broker, as defined in Section 1
of this Ordinance, within. the corporate limits of the City of
Fort Collins, shall file an application for a license with the
City Clerk of said city upon a form to be prescribed by said
last named officer, which application shall be accompanied by
the license fee herein prescribed; the City Clerk shall thereupon
present the application to the City Council, and if the same is
approved a license will be issued to the applicant to be duly
signed by the Commissioner of Safety and Ex Officio Mayor ' and
bountersigned by the City Clerk under the corporate seal, which
said license shall expire one (1) year from the date of issuance.
Section 3. The license fee shall be
dollars per annum, -and no license will be issued for any less
period than one year; and the same shell not be transferable.
The City Council shall have the right to revoke any license issued
under the provisions of this ordinance upon good cause shown.

Section 4 Any person persons or corporation violating
any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction
thereof be fined in any sum noZ;:Zmollars

in default of the payment of sucn fine and costs may be com-
mitted to the city jail for a period of not to exceed ninety
(90) days
Sec+ion 5 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict Stith Vila ordinance are hereby repealed

I, Ray Baxter City Clerk of the City of Fort
Collins do hereby certify that the foregoing ordinance con-
sisting of five (5) sections, duly proposdd and reaa at length
at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the day
of March 1917 was at a meeting of the City Council duly
ordered by Aye and Nay vote to be published in the Fort Collins
Courier, a daily newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, in accor-
dance with the provisions of section 7 or Article IV of the City
Charter, that thereafter and on to-wit, the "14day of April,
1917 at a regular meeting of the City Council, said ordinance
came before said Council on its final passage a period of more
than ten days having elapsdd since the publication as above set
forth and that said ordinance wws upon second reading adopted
as an ordinance , and +hereaf£er and on, to-wit, the 4 day
of April 1917 said Ordinance No —Y-1917, as finally
passed and adopted was duly published in the Fort Collins
Coutter a daily newspaper punished in the City of Fort Collins,
Colorado
