BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE APPROPRIATION
FOR THE MUNICIPAL RAILWAY DEPARTMENT FOR THE REMAINDER OF
THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1919, AND FOR THE PUR-
POSE OF PAYING THE OPERATING EXPENSES AND MAINTENANCE OF
THE FORT COLLINS MUNICIPAL RAILWAY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Whereas since the 31st day of December 1916 and
subsequent to the annual appropriation ordinance by the City
of Fort Collins, for the fiscal year ending December 31st,
1919 the City of Fort Collins has by virtue of the autnority
of the vote of the people and ordinances passed in pursuance
thereof acquired by purchase and is now operating the street
railway system in the City of Fort Collins, formerly o-ened and
operated by the Denver and Interurban Railroad Company, and
it is necessary for the City Council to provide an appropriation
to pay the operating expenses and maintenance of said railway
system
Section 1 That owing to the fact that the City of
Fort Collins has acquired by purchase and is now operating the
Fort Collins Municipal Railway, since the adoption of the
annual appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending
December 31st, 1919, it has become necessary by reason of 'this
unforeseen contingency since the passage of said annual appro-
priation ordinance to make an appropriation, pursuant to the
authority contained in Section 11, of Article XIX of the City
Charter, for the payment of the operating expenses and main-
tenance of the Fort Collins Municipal Railway
Section 2 That there be and 'iereby is appropriated
out of the operating revenues of the Fort Collins Municipal
Railway and such other funds as may be transferred by resolu-
zion of the City Council for that purpose to the Municipal
Railway Department the sum of Thirteen thousand five hundred
Dollars ($13 500 oo) from June 1, 1919, for the remainder
of the fiscal year ending December 31st 1919
Section 3 Ir the opinion of the City Council an
emergency exists for the preservation of the puolic health
peace and safety and this ordinance shall take effect upon
its passage, under and by virtue of the authority contained
in Sections 6 and 7, of Article IV, of the City Charter�y

Collins do hereby certify and declare that the foregoing
ordinance consisting of three sections was duly proposed
and read at length at a regular meeting of the Cit} Council
held on the 21st day of June, A D 1919, and was duly
adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Courier
a daily newspaper, oy the unanimous vote of all the members
of the City Council, as an emergency ordinance in accordance
with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV, of
the City Charter and thereafter and on, towit the 2
day of June, A D 1919, said ordinance No ,,was duly published
m the Fort Collins Courier, a daily newspaper, published in
the City of Fort Collins Colorado
