BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE AIAEND"ENT OF
SECTIONS 453, 455, 456 AND 457 OF THE FORT COLLINS CODE,
CONCERITING LICENSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS:
Section 1. That Section 453 of the Fort Collins
Code be ana the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
"Section 453. If the said application shall re-
ceive the approval of the Commissioner of Safety and Ex Officio
Mayor , the City Clerk is hereby authorized to issue a license
therefor, countersigned by the Commissioner of Safety and Ex
Officio Mayor , upon the payment of the fee hereinafter provided,
and the filing ana approval of a bond in the sum of Three Hun-
dred Dollars ($300.00) , when the licensee is operating a horse
drawn vehicle, and a bona of Five Hundred Dollars (4500.00)
when operating a motor propelled vehicle, and Eight Hundred
Dollars (4800.00) , when operating both horse drawn and motor
propelled vehicles, which said bond shall be signed by a surety
company and conditioned that the principal of the bond shall
indemnify ana save the City of Yort Collins harmless on account
of any violation of ordinances, rules and regulations of said
City, and the patrons of saia licensee against any loss or
damage by reason of the negligence of said licensee in the
operation of said vehicles, with the right of action to accrue
in favor of the person or persons suffering any injury, by
suit in the name of the City of Fort Collins; which licenses
so issued shall expire on December 31st of each year. Licenses
issued between, January 1st an', July 1st , the licensee shall pay
the whole license fee; those issued between) July 1st and Decem-
ber 31st , the licensee s'rail pay one-half the annual fee. "
Section 2. That Section 455 of the i'ort Collins
Code be and hereby is amended to read as follows:
"Section 455. Each motor propelled vehicle shall
bear a license plate issued by the City Clerk in a conspicuous
place upon the vehicle, and each horse or team shall have said
license plate attached to the harness. "
Section 3. That Section 456 of the Fort Collins
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 456. The license fee to be paid for the
operation of vehicles for hire within the corporate limits of
the City of Fort Collins shall be as follows: For operation with
horse drawn vehicle , Twelve Dollars (412. 00) for the first horse
or team, and Five Dollars ($$5.00) for each additional horse or
team; the license fee above mentioned shall be the same whether
operation is by single horse or team, and shall be based upon
the number of teams used and not upon the)number of vehicles
owned or used by licensee . For operation with motor propelled
vehicles, Twenty-five Dollars (425.00) for the first motor pro-
pelled vehicle, and Seven and 50/100 Dollars (§7.50) for each
additional motor propelled vehicle. "
Section 4. That Section 457 of the Fort Collins
Code be amended so as to read as follows:
"Section 457. The price and rates of fare to be
charged by owners or drivers of vehicles for the conveyance of
passengers or hauling of baggage for hire, shall be such rates
as shall be hereafter fixed by resolution of the City Council of
the City of Mort Collins. "
Section 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 6. In the opinion of the City Council an
emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace
and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage
and publication under and by virtue of the authority contained in
Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter.
Introduced, read at length and adopted by the un-
animous vote of all the members of the City Council this 5th day
of February, A.D . 1541.

I , A. J. ROSENOW, City Clerk of the City of Fort
Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the foregoing ordi-
nanoe, consisting of six (6) sections, was duly proposed and
read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council held on
the 5th day of February, A.D. 1921, and was duly adopted and or-
dered published in the Fort Collins Courier, a daily newspaper
and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the ua-
amimous vote of all members of the Council, as an emergency ordi-
nance , in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of
Article IV of the City Charter; and thereafter, and on towit:
the _y— day of February, A.U. 1921, said Ordinance No. ,3 was
duly ublished in the Fort Collins Courier, a daily newspaper
published in the City of Fort Collins , Colorado.
