ORDINANCE NO. 26_ 19280
BEING AN MRGENCY ORDIIANCE ALM1 'DING A PART OF SECTION 11, AND
SECTION 18, OF ORDINANCE ITO. 8, 1927, RELATING TO THE USE OF
WATER FROK THE CITY WATER WORKS OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLLTS:
Section 1. That the second paragraph of "Class III -
Metered Service" of Section 11 of Ordinance No. 8, 1927, be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows :
"Water rentals falling within class III,
within the corporate limits of the City of
Fort Collins, shall be paid monthly on the
first day of the succeeding month, and if the
water rent is not in the City Clerk's office
by 4:00 o'clock P. M. on the loth day or
4:00 o'clock P. M. on the llth day, should
the loth fall on a Sunday, 01.00 shall be
added as a penalty and the water shut off
by order of the City Clerk and not turned
on again until all payments in arrears,
including penalty , shall have been paid."
Section 2. That Section 18 of Ordinance ITo. 8, 1927,
be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"The sum of One ($1.00) Dollar shall be
added to the water rental of each consumer in
making up the water rental roll for each period
provided in this ordinance , and if the water
rent is not in the City Clerk's office by 4:00
o'clock P. M. on the loth day of February and
August of each year , or upon the llth day of
such months should the loth fall on a Sunday,
the $1.00 shall be collected and retained as a
penalty and the water shut off by order of the
City Clerk and not turned on again until all
payments in arrears, including penalty, shall
have been paid."
Section 3. In the opinion of the City Council an
emergency exists for the preservati :M of the public health, peace
and safety and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage
and publication under and by virtue of the authority contained in
Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter.

Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous
vote of all members of the City Council at a regular meeting held
this 1st day of September, A. D. 1928.

do hereby certify and declare that the foregoing ordinance , consisting
of three (3) sections was duly proposed and read at length at a
regular meeting of the City Council held on the lst day of September,
A. D. 1928, and was duly adopted and ordered published in the Fort
Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper aryl the official newspaper
of the City of Fort Coll-ins, by the unanimous vote of all members of
the City Council, as an emergency ordinance, in accordance with the
'provisions of Secticns 6 and 7 of ,. ,xticle IU of the City Charter; and
thereafter and on to-wit : the day of September , A. D. 1928, said
Ordinance No . 2S was duly published in the Fort Collins Express-
Courier, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins,
Colorado .
