ORDINANCE NO. , SERIES OF 1909.
RELFTING TO BUCKET SHOPS.
Be It Crdained by the City Council of the City of Fort Collins,
Colorado:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm,
association or corporation, either as principal or agent, to
maintain or operate a "bucket shop" as herein defined, within
the corporate limits of the city of Fort Collins.
Section 2. A bucket shop is a place wherein are published,
from information received as the same occur, the fluctuating
prices of stocks, bonds, petroleum, cotton, grains or provisions,
in trades made or offered to be made on regular and lawful
boards of exchange, and wherein the person carrying on the
bucket shop, either as principal or agent, pretends to buy or
sell or r
goes through the form of buying selling, to any
person or persons any one of said commodities at a certain price
fixed by or according to the aforesaid prices posted or published,
but wherein neither party actually buys or sells the same.
Section 3. Each day ' s maintenance of a bucket shop as herein
defined shall be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. Any person or corporation violating the provisions
of this ordinance, shall upon conviction thereof, be fined not less
than one hundred (^100; Dollars, nor more than three hundred
dollars, and costs of suit .
