To The Hon. City Commissioners Sitting in Council.
Gentlemen:-
The undersigned retiring Commissioners have had
under consideration for several months the matter of revis-
ing the salary ordinance of officers and employes with a
view of increasing the compensation where we believed it
was deserved, due to increased cost of living expenses since
the ordinance was passed in 1916. During the past year
some changes ware made by an amended ordinance in Police
and Fire Departments, and our purpose wr.sto make a complete
revision of the 1916 ordinance . Complying with a request
from the Commissioners Elect, we have made a tentative
revision and affixed the amounts for tr.e respective officers
and employes for your consideration which is attached to
this report.
