BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE REGULATING THE SALE AND USE OF FIRE
WORFS AND OTHER CONBUSTIBLE MATFRIAL AFD THE USE OF FIREAR%iS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 The selling or keeping for sale of
fire-crackers, Roman canales or any form of fireworks or other
thing of like nature containing powder or other combustible matter
or explosive material of any nature whatsoever is hereby prohibited
within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Collins, vithout
having ootained a legal license therefor from the Commissioner of
Safety - Such license shall only permit the sale
of the above named articles from the first to the fifth nay both
inclusive of July of each year except wnere the first day of
July comes on Sunday then the license shall extena to and include
the 30th aay of June Such license shall only be good for one
place of sale tiitnin the corporate limits and shall not be assign-
able ana shall not permit the sale of any of the above articles
if prohibited by the Statutes of the State of Coloraao Such
license may be revoked by the Commissioner of Safety at any time
The fee for said license shall be $20 00 payable in advance
The application for such license shall be upon a form prepared by
the City Clerk and approved by the Commissioner of Safety ana.

Section 2 The firing of any cannon gun or
firearm of any description or the explosion of any fire-cracker
Roman candle rocket or other thing containing powder or other
combustible matter or explosive material is hereby prohibited
within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Collins, except
that permission may be granted by the Commissioner of Safety

for the shooting of firearms for the removal ana elimination
of coves sparroks or other birds or animals that may become
nuisances but the killing of which is not contrary to feaeral
or state laws which permit shall be limited as to person time
and place by the Commissioner of Safety This section shall not
be held to prohibit exhibitions of fireworks given under the
authority and control of the City on the Fourth day of July or
any public holiday at any public park within the corporate limits
of the City
Section 3 All ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed
Section 4 Any person who shall violate any of
the provisions of tnis ordinance shall upon conviction be fined
in a sum not more than One Hundred Dollars for each offense and
costs of suit
Section 5 In the opinion of the City Council
an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health,
peace and safety ana this ordinance shall take effect upon its
passage under and by virtue of the authority containea in Sections
6 and 7 of Article N of the City Charter
Introduced, read at length and adoptea by the
unanimous vote of all members of the City Council tnis 23rd

City of Fort Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the
aforesaid Ordinance, consisting of five (5) sections , was duly
proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City
Council held on the 23rd day of March, A D 1934, and was duly
adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier,
a daily newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort
Collins, by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council,
as an Emergency Ordinance , in accordance with the provisions of
Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter, and thereafter
