BEING AN ORDINANCE RELAT-ING TO THE SCHEDULE OF RATES TO BE CHARGED
AND COLLECTED BY THE MOUNTAIN STATES TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH
COMPANY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY CONTAINED IN SECTION 4 of ARTICLE XVIII
OF THE CITY CHARTER RESPECTING THE MATTER OF RATES, RENTALS AND
CHARGES FOR SERVICE TO BE MADE BY PUBLIC UTILITY CORPORATIONS
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY, FIXING A PENALTY FOR
VIOLATION HEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 It shall be lawful for The Mountain States
Telephone and Telegraph Company to charge and collect for telephone
service within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Collins in
accordance with the following schedule of rates
Monthly Rates
Business
Individual line flat rate $6 25
Two-party line flat rate 5 00
Extension 1 25
Residence
Individual line flat rate 3 40
Two-party line flat rate 2 90
Four-party line flat rate 2 40
Extension 75
Other rates to be charged for other services shall be as
set forth in the letter of application dated July 5, 1947,
a copy of which is on file with the City Clerk
Section 2 It shall be lawful for the said The Mountain
States Telephone and Telegraph Company to enforce its general tariff,
rules , regulations , rates and charges at the time of the taking
effect of this ordinance, which shall control said Company in its
administration of the telephone service within the corporate limits
of the City of Fort Collins until otherwise ordered and changed by
the City Council, which said general tariff, rules , regulations,
rates and charges include the schedule of rates enumerated in
Section 1 hereof, as well as other rates which are to be in force
and effect in the City of Fort Collins , a copy of which general
tariff, rules , regulations , rates and charges shall be kept on file
with the City Clerk upon the taking effect of this ordinance
Section 3 Any violation of the provisions of this or-
dinance by said Company shall subject it to a fine upon conviction
in any sum not to exceed $300 00
Section 4 The rates and charges herein authorized shall
be made effective by said Company upon the first billing date sub-
sequent to the passage of this ordinance
Section 5 Ordinance No 10, 1921 and all other ordinances
and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby
repealed , except that the rates and charges now in effect shall re-
main in effect until the first billing date subsequent to the passage
of this ordinance
Section 6 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency
exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety,
and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage
under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7
of Article IV of the City Charter
Introduced, read at length and adopted by unanimous vote
of all members of the City Council at a regular meeting held this
20th day of November, A D 1947

do hereby certify and declare that the foregoing Ordinance, con-
sisting of six sections, was duly proposed and read at length at
a regular meeting of the City Council, held on the 20th day of
November, A D 1947, and was duly adopted and ordered published
in the Fort Collins Coloradoan, a daily newspaper and the official
newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unanimous vote of all
members of the Council, as an emergency ordinance, in accordance
with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City
Charter, and thereafter, and on to-wit the 25thday of November,
1947, was duly published in the Fort Collins Coloradoan, a daily
newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins, Colorado
IN [WITNESS WBEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the seal of said City, this 25th day of November, A D 1947
