BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 11, 19179
RELATING TO FOOD, AND CREATING THE OFFICE OF FOOD INSPECTOR BY
ADDING THERETO SECTION 21A, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR
PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That Ordinance No 11, Series of 1917 ,
be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto Section 21A
to read as follows, to-wit-
"Section 21A No hogs shall be kept or fed
within 300 yards of any slaughter house or any build-
ings in which meat is slaughtered , processed, prepared,
handled , or stored If offal is fed to hogs on the
premises, said offal shall be handled, transported and
fed under approved sanitary regulations as the Food
Inspector shall prescribe Hogs which are to be butcher-
ed w3,thin 48 hours may be held in pens close to the
abattoir under approved sanitary regulations provided
they are not fed offal
Section 2 All ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereoy repealed
Section 3 In the opinion of the City Council an
emergency exists for the preservation of the public health,
peace and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its
passage under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sec-
tions 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter.
Introduced, read at length, and adopted by the unan-
imous vote of all members of the City Council, at a regular meet-
ing of the City Council, held this 6th day of September, A D

I, MILES F HOUSE, City Clerk of the City of Fort
Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the aforesaid
Ordinance , consisting of three Sections , was duly proposed
and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council
held on the 6th day of September, A D 1946, and was duly
adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Coloradoan,
a daily newspaper and official newspaper of the City of Fort
Collins, by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Coun-
cil, as an Emergency Ordinance, in accordance with the provisions
of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter, and there-
after and on, to-wit The loth day of September , A D
1946, said Ordinance No 6 was duly published in the
Fort Collins Coloradoan, a daily newspaper published in the
City of Fort Collins, Colorado
