HomeMy WebLinkAbout020 - 06/27/1963 - AMENDING SECTION 21-2 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO WATER TRUNK LINE ASSESSMENTS AND SEWER TRUNK LINE t ORDINANCE NO 20 1963 BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 21-2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS COLORADO 1958 AS AMENDED RELATING TO WATER TRUNK LINE ASSESS- MENTS AND SEVER TRUNK LINE ASSESSMENTS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That Section 21-2 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Fort Collins Colorado, 1958 as amended be and the same hereby is amended by deleting therefrom the first paragraph thereof and by sub- stituting therefore the following words and figures to-wit The tapping of the mains and the installation of all pipes fittings and appurtenances necessary for conveying water from the main to the property line shall be done by the Water Division at the expense of the owner The cost of each 5/8 inch tap or its equivalent shall be $15 00 plus a trunk line assessment in the sum equal to 1kq, for each square foot of the lot area for which service is re- quired, provided however that for one-family residences said assessment together with the trunk line sewer assess- ment provided for in Section 21-45 of the Code of Ordinances shall not exceed the sum of $600 00 for one water and one sewer tap and provided further that whenever additional water and sewer service is required for said lot the additional charges that would have been made if the afore- said limitation was not in force shall at the time of acquiring said latter service be paid and provided further that in case of hardship a property owner may with per- mission of the Council furnish a plat of the lot area con- cerned showing the portions to be occupied by buildings on such lot area and the Council may permit the charging of the assessment herein provided for together with the trunk line sewer assessment provided for in Section 21-45 of the Code of Ordinances, on the basis of the area of such lot actually to be occupied by buildings in which case such assessments shall be based on a lot area of at least three times the total square footage of the buildings on such lot with a minimum assessment of $600 00 and provided further that if such alternate means of assessing is used a further assessment shall be due on the same basis for any buildings thereafter constructed on the lot involved In addition to the assessments above provided for an additional assessment for water main construction costs in the sum equal to 1k4� for each square foot of the lot area for which such service is required shall be paid pro- vided however that this latter water main assessment shall not be charged in the event that the water main connected to was installed at the cost of some party other than the City of Fort Collins Introduced considered favorably on first reading and ordered published this 6th day of June A D 1963, to be presented for final passage on the 27th day of June A D 1963 Mayor Ulf ATTEST City C erk Passed and adopted on final reading this 27th day of June A D 1963 yoM hk� &24��.40 ATTEST City lerk D -2-
