BEING AN EUERGENCY ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE ORGANIZATION OF THE. FIRE DEPARTMMT
OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 ThatiSection 2 of Ordinance No 1 Series of 19259
being an ordinance relating to the organization of the Fire Department of the
City of Fort Collins, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit
Section F. For the purpose of carrying on the work of said Fire Depart-
ment, the City Council is hereby authorized and empowered to appoint or
designate, upon the recommendation of the Commissioner of Safety, one Fire
Chief, two Captains one Fireman Master Mechanic, and such additional Firemen
as may be necessary for the proper organization of the Fire Department and
protection against fires within the City All Firemen shall be under the
immediate direction and control of the Fire Chief but said Fire Chief and all
Firemen shall be at all times subject to the general control and direction of
the Commissioner of Safety Said Fire Chief and Firemen shall receive such
compensation as provided in the ordinance relating to salaries or in resolutions
adopted pursuant thereto end shall hold their respective offices or employment
at the pleasure of the City Council upon the recommendation of the Commissioner
of Public Safety subject to the provisions of Article VI of the City Charter
Section 2 All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
this ordinance, are hereby repealed
Section 3 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists
for the preservation of the public health safety and peace and this ordinance
shall take effect upon its passage trader and by virtue of the authority con-
tained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter
Introduced read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all
members of the City Council this 18th day of January A D 1935

aforesaid Ordinance consisting of three (3) sections was duly
proposed and reae at length at a regular meeting of the City
Council hela on the 18th day of January, A D 1935, and v,as
duly adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Express-
Courier a daily nerspaper and the official ne� spaper of the City
of Fort Collins by the unanimous vote of all members of the City
Council, as an Emergency Ordinance, in accordance vith the pro-
visions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article Ili of the City Charter
and thereafter and on to-Tit the 19th day of February A D
1935, said Ordinance No 1 was duly published in the Fort
Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper published in the City
of Fort Collins Colorado
