AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 13 1956 RELATING TO THE
ANNEXING OF THE COLLEGE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS, COLORADO
WHEREAS at the request of the State Board of Agriculture of
Colorado in annexing the College Addition to the City of Fort Collins, it
was expressly provided that the City of Fort Collins should have no jur-
isdiction whatever for regulating of traffic or parking or other purposes
relating to the traffic control and
IMEREAS said State Board of Agriculture of Colorado has now
requested the City Council of the City of Fort Collins to amend said Ordi-
nance No 13 1956 to provide application upon the campus of the univer-
sity of (1) the city traffic ordinance (2) city ordinances relating to
police enforcement of the traffic code and of peace and good order
(3) the jurisdiction of the municipal court over violation of ordinances
included in the foregoing items 1 and 2 (4) to recognize the authority
of the university to impose on its students and employees any supplementary
traffic regulations or restrictions and to impose such penalties as are
consistent with their status with respect to the university and (5) to
provide for the amendment of any city ordinance provisions in conflict
therewith
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That Section 2 of Ordinance No 13 1956 be and the
same is hereby amended by deleting the following words and figures to-wit
(2) granting any jurisdiction whatever for regulating of traffic or park-
ing or for other purposes relating to the traffic control and by further
amending said Section 2 by adding thereto the following words and figures
to-wit
Section 2A The jurisdiction of the City of Fort Collins is hereby
extended over the property annexed by the within ordinance my the following
particulars
(1) the city traffic ordinances
(2) the city ordinances relating to police enforcement of
the traffic code and city ordinances relating to offenses against the per-
son offenses against habitations and dwellings offenses against public
peace offenses relating to morals and offenses relating to public health
and safety
(3) the jurisdiction of the municipal court is hereby ex-
tended to include violations of ordinances ipcluded in the foiEgoing items
1 and 2 occurring on lands annexed by the within ordinance provided how-
ever that nothing herein contained shall limit the authority of the uni-
versity officials to impose on its students and employees any supplementary
traffic regulations or restrictions and to impose such other penalties as
are consistent with their status with respect to the university
