ORDINANCE NO 302 1972
BEING AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT THE NEED TO
REPOWER A PUMPER OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS AN
UNFORSEEN CONTINGENCY ARISING AFTER THE PASSAGE
OF THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AND APPRO-
PRIATING THE SUM OF $9,580 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF
SO REPOWERING SUCH PUMPER
WHEREAS, a gasoline powered pumper in the Fire Department is
not performing satisfactorily because of loss of power, and
WHEREAS, it would be possible to make repairs on said pumper
in order to regain such lost power, but such repairs would be temporary
only and would not last for any significant time, and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, it is more desir-
able to repower said pumper with a diesel engine, and
WHEREAS, the loss of power of said pumper and the need to re-
power the same was not anticipated at the time of the passage of the annual
appropriation ordinance for the City, and such need is therefor an unfor-
seen contingency within the exception contained within Section 8 of Article
V of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That the City Council hereby finds and determines
that the need to repower a pumper of the Fire Department is an unforseen
contingency arising after the passage of the annual appropriation ordinance
Section 2 There is hereby appropriated from unbudgeted surplus
equipment funds to the equipment fund, the sum of $9,580 00, for expenditure
during the year 1972
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered
published this 1st day of June, A D 1972, and to be presented for final
passage on the 2 9th day of June, A D 1972
