BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE VI
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
RELATING TO THE USE OF PUBLIC STREETS,
ALLEYS, SIDEWALKS, PLAZAS AND MALLS
AND PROVIDING FOR LICENSING OF VENDORS ON
SUCH PUBLIC PLACES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows
Section 1 That Article VI of Chapter 73 of the Code of the City of
Fort Collins be, \and the same hereby is, amended by adding thereto an
additional Section 73-30 1 to read as follows
"Section 73-30 1\Use of Public Streets, Alleys, Sidewalks,
Plazas and Malls for Stationary Vending
Purposes
A Licenses Required It shall be unlawful for any
person to sell or offer for sale or in any manner
assist ,n or about any sale or offer for sale of
any goods, wares, merchandise within the corporate
limits of the city of Fort Collins from a station-
ary place of business on any public street, alley,
sidewalk, plaza, or mall without first hav, na
obtained a license therefor as provided ,n this
Article
B License Fees and Terms
1 The fee for a vendor' s license shall be five
hundred dollars ($500) peg year payable ,n
advance to the Director of Finance No prora-
tion of such license fee shall be allowed
2 All annual licenses issued hereunder shall
terminate on December 31 of each year, and the
fee for a renewal license shall bye due and
payable on January 1 of each year
3 No more than three (3) vendor's licenses shall
be issued for any given block, plaza or mall
Licenses shall be issued on the basis of time
of receipt of application

4 Any vendor making application for a license
shall first have obtained written permission
from the owner or lessee of the business in
front of which the vendor intends to locate his
business
5 No vendor's licenses shall be issued for that
public area within the City of Fort Collins
commonly known as the Oak Street Plaza located
on Oak Street bounded on the east by College
and on the west by the Oak Street Parking Lot
6 No license shall be issued for any location
which would block access to fire exits, bus
stops, taxi stands, loading zones, parking
spaces or the like
7 No vendor's licenses shall be finally issued by
the Director of Finance until the Director of
Public Works has reviewed and approved the
application for such license, taking into
account the impact of the business at the
proposed location on the following
a Vehicular traffic,
b Pedestrian traffic,
c Obstructions in the immediate area of the
proposed use,
d Normal and anticipated use of the area,
and
e Any other relevant considerations
Introduced, considered favorablv on first reading and ordered pub-
lished this 17th day of April, A D 1979, and to be presented for final
passage on the 1st day of May , A D 1979
