RELATING TO WATEP MD SEI4EP UTILITIES AND PPOVIDING
FOR THE BILLING OF WATER AND SE4ER TAP CHARGES ON THE
BASIS OF ACTUAL CHARGES INCURRED AND AMENDING SECTIONS

IMEREAS, in the past the City has billeo customers a set tap charge
for eater ano sewer taps, and
IHEPEAS, this practice on occasior has resulted in sorre customers
paying less than actual cost and other customers paying pore, and
VHEPEAS, present City accountinq systems car proviae for the billing
of actual costs incurred for tap charges, thus resulting in greater fair-
ness to the customer
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT OPDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CIFY OF FORT
COLLINS AS FOLLO'1S
Section 1 That Section 112-62 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins be, and it hereby is, amended so as to read
"§112-62 Tap Charqe
A charge shall be made by tree City to cover the costs
ircurred by the City in makine a tap or, the City water
maims Such charge shall include all labor, materiel , and
equipmert costs, as well as an administrative charge for
processina Saic charge shall be billed to Lhe person or
persons taking the permit for that tap "
Section 2 That Section 112-64 A of the Cede of the City of Fort
Collins be, and it hereby is, anended by the deletion the-efrom of all
references to t-iF charges witn the result that said Section shall read as
follows
"§112-6a Schedulc of Water Plant Investment Fees
A Tne water plant in� estnPnt fee prescribed in
§112-61 of this Article shall be charged to users
both in the City and out of the City, 0 Nether
netered or tlat rate, and paid pursuant -co the

All taps in excess of six (6) inches shall be
charged a fee negotiated by the City Manacer and
approved by the City Council upon recommendation of
the Water Board
Section 3 That Section 112-64 B of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins be, and it hereby is, amended so as to read
"B In the event a water user from the water utility
of the City shall apply for aria obtain permission
to increase the size of his tap, he snall pay an
additional water plant investrient fee and an
additional tap charge to the extent of the differ-
ence between the fee and charge for the existing
smaller tap and the fee and charge for the re-
quested larqer tap In the event that the exist-
ing smaller tap is less than three-fourths (3/a)
inch in diameter, the applicant shall be creditea
for the fee and charge applicable to the thrPe-
fourths (3/4) inch tap No refund, honever, shall
be made to any water user of the water utility of
the City who obtains per-^ission to decrease the
size of nis tap "
Section 4 That Section 112-64 C of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins be, and it hereby is, repealed
Section 5 That Section 112-83 B of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins be, aria it hereby is, amended so as to read

Section 6 That Section 112-83 C of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins be, and it hereby is, amended by tl,e deletion therefrom of all
references to tap charges so as to rrdke the Section read as follows
