BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 112
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
RELATING TO WATER PLANT INVESTMENT FEES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that Section
112-64 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is,
amended to read as follows
§112-64 Schedule of Water Plant Investment Fees
A The water plant investment fee prescribed in §112-61 of
this article shall be charged to users both in and out
of the City, whether metered or flat rate, as follows
1 For Sin le Famil and Two Family Residential Struc-
tures Wit out Common y wned Areas
A fee of One Hundred Sixty Dollars ($160 00) for
single family residential structures and Three
Hundred Twenty Dollars ($320 00) for two family
residential structures, plus Thirteen Cents ($0 13)
for each square foot of lot area will be charged for
an initial three-fourths (3/4) inch water tap For
each additional tap to serve the premises, or for
taps larger than three-fourths inch, the non-resi-
dential rate shall apply

For each residential structure a base fee of One
Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($1,200) will be
charged For structures on separately owned lots in
excess of eight thousand (8,000) square feet, a fee
will be added of thirteen cents ($0 13) for each
such additional square foot Such fees will provide
for one tap per residential structure and an ade-
quate number of additional taps to serve common
irrigable areas Approval of the number and size
shall be granted pursuant to City policy

For each residential structure a base fee of Nine
Hundred Sixty Dollars ($960 00) plus Two Hundred
Forty Dollars ($240 00) for each living unit in the
structure will be charged Such fees will provide
for one tap per residential structure and an ade-
quate number of additional taps to serve common
irrigable areas, if any Approval of the number and
size shall be granted pursuant to City policy

The non-residential rate shall apply
5 For Non-Residential Service
Service to all non-residential taps, including, but
not limited to, taps for commercial and industrial
service shall be charged according to the size of
the tap at the water main (exclusive of demand for
fire protection) pursuant to the following schedule

All taps in excess of four (4) inches shall be
charged a fee negotiated by the Director of the
Water and Sewer Utility and approved by the City
Council upon recommendation of the Water Board
B In the event that a water user from the Water Utility of
the City shall apply for and obtain permission to
increase the size of his tap, if for that tap a water
plant investment fee based on the size of the tap had
been paid, he shall pay an additional water plant
investment fee to the extent of the difference between
the fee and charge for the existing smaller tap and the
fee and charge for the requested larger tap In the
event that the existing smaller tap is less than three-
fourths (3/4) inch in diameter, the applicant shall be
credited for the fee and charge for the three-fourths
inch tap No refund, however, shall be made to any
water user of the Water Utility of the City who obtains
permission to decrease the size of his tap
