HomeMy WebLinkAbout128 - 10/06/1981 - ADOPTING FINAL MASTER DRAINAGE PLANS FOR THE MCCLELLANDS AND MAIL CREEK AND FOOTHILLS AND FOX MEADOW ORDINANCE NO 128 1981 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CIT4 FORT COLLINS ADOPTING FINAL MASTER DRAINAGE PLANS FOR THE McCLELLANDS AND MAIL CREEK, FOOTHILLS, AND FOX MEADOWS DRAINAGE BASIN, AND ADOPTING INTERIM DRAINAGE PLANS FOR ALL OTHER BASINS OF THE CITY WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has, pursuant to Section 93-1 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins, determined the necessity of providing storm drainage lines and other facilities for the drainage and control of floods and surface waters within the City, in order that the health, property, safety and welfare of the City and its inhabi- tants may be safeguarded and protected, and WHEREAS, an integral part of said storm drainage system is the pre- paration of Master Drainage Plans, and WHEREAS, the Storm Drainage Board has analyzed, on a cost/benefit basis where appropriate, Master Drainage Plans for the McClellands and Mail Creek, Foothills, and Fox Meadows Basins and has reviewed and made recom- mendations to the City Council that Master Drainage Plans for the aforesaid basins be adopted, and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has determined that the adoption of the Master Drainage Plans for the McClellands and Mail Creek, Foothills, and Fox Meadows Basins is in the best interests of the City of Fort Collins, and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has further deter- mined that it is in the best interest of the City of Fort Collins that interim drainage plans be adopted as conceptual plans for all other drain- age basins of the City, as said plans are defined on the map attached hereto and entitled, "Storm Drainage Master Plan" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that interim drainage plans be adopted as conceptual plans for all drainage basins of the City except the McClellands and Mail Creek, Foot- hills, and Fox Meadows Basins, for which basins, Final Master Drainage Plans shall be adopted as hereinafter provided BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that Section 93-6 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be amended to provide as follows "§93-6 Establishment of Storm Drainage Basins and Basin Master Mary s (A) After receiving the report and recommendation of the Storm Drainage Board, the City Council shall officially adopt by resolution a Storm Drainage Map or Maps delineating the boundaries of the storm drainage basin in the city and in areas which may hereafter be annexed to the city Such map may also indicate existing development of properties within the basin , zoning of properties and such other information as may be determined to be advisable Such map shall , after adoption by the Council , serve as official designation of the respective drainage basins of the city, but such map may be revised from time to time by the City Council to conform with existing conditions (B) Master Drainage Plans are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this Chapter for the following drainage basins of the City 1) McClellands and Mail Creek Major Draina2eway Plan, prepare by orne onsu ting ompany a nd John Griffith, P E , dated December, 1980 2) Foothills Basin Drains a Master Plan, prepared by Resource onsu tants, nc and datedFebruary, 1981 3) Fox Meadows Basin Drainage Master Plan, prepared by Resource onsu tants, Inc and dated February, 1981 The aforesaid Master Drainage Plans are on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins Furthermore, the City of Fort Collins may adopt additional Master Drainage Plans by reference and declare the same to be a part of this Chapter , and a copy of such Master Drain- age Plans shall be on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins " Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered pub- lished this 15th day of September 1981, and to be presented for final passage on the 6th day of October 1981 ATTEST ay r City Ulerk — 1981 Passed and adopted on final reading this 6th day of October , A D 4,4C ayor ATTEST ,ty Cler 0 �—
