OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED GRANT REVENUE FROM THE OFFICE
OF NATIONAL DRUG CONTROL POLICY IN THE GENERAL FUND
FOR THE LARIMER COUNTY DRUG TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the Office of National Drug Control Policy has awarded Fort Collins Police
Services a grant of federal money in the amount of$70,200 (the "Grant"); and
WHEREAS, the Grant is to be used by the Latimer County Drug Task Force (the "Task
Force")to help fund the investigation of illegal narcotics activities; and
WHEREAS the Task Force consists of representatives from Fort Collins Police Ser
vices,
Loveland Police Department,Latimer County Sheriff s Department,Estes Park Police Department,
and the Colorado State University Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins and Fort Collins Police Services will administer the
Grant for the Latimer County Drug Task Force; and
WHEREAS, Article V,Section 9,of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City
Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,
provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous
appropriations for that fiscal year, does not exceed the current estimate of actual and anticipated
revenues to be received during the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS,City staff has determined that the appropriation of the grant funds as described
herein will not cause the total amount appropriated in the General Fund to exceed the current
estimate of actual and anticipated revenues to be received in that fund during the fiscal year.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated grant revenue in the General Fund
the sum of SEVENTY THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS($70,200)for expenditure,upon
receipt, in the General Fund for Police Services for the Multi-jurisdictional Drug Task Force Grant
Project.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this 17th day of
October, A.D. 2006, and to be presented for final passage on day of November, . 2006.
