OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE
TRANSPORTATION DIVISION PORTION OF THE
TRANSPORTATION FUND
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 14, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
(the "Charter") authorizes the City Council to appropriate unanticipated revenues
which are the result of new revenue sources at any time during the year in which
such revenue is received; and
WHEREAS, the City Council passed Resolution 93-51 on April 20, 1993,
authorizing the City to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the
Colorado State Department of Transportation (CDOT) for the receipt of Surface
Transportation Program (STP) funds to provide for bicycle projects; and
WHEREAS, said STP funds included $255,000 to be used for the Redwood/Linden
Bikeway connection project and the Hickory Street to the Poudre River Trail
Bikeway connection project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 34, 1993 on April 20, 1993
appropriating the aforementioned STP funds to be used for the said bicycle
connection projects; and
WHEREAS, the COOT has required several changes and project modifications
to the aforementioned projects prior to final project approval , causing the
connection projects costs to increase by $70,100; and
WHEREAS, the City Council passed Resolution 94-97, on June 21, 1994,
authorizing the City to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the
Colorado State Department of Transportation for the receipt of Surface
Transportation Program (STP) funds to construct the Redwood/Linden Bikeway and
the Hickory Street to the Poudre River Trail Bikeway connection projects at a
revised project amount; and
WHEREAS, the City anticipates receiving $70, 100 in additional STP funds,
to be used with previously approved STP funds, for the purpose of constructing
the Redwood/Linden and Hickory Street to the Poudre River Trail bikeway
connection projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that upon the City's receipt of the sum of SEVENTY THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS
($70,100) in Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds from the Colorado State
Department of Transportation, said sum is appropriated for expenditure from
unanticipated revenue in the Transportation Division portion of the
Transportation Fund to provide for the construction of the Redwood/Linden and the
Hickory Street to the Poudre River Trail Bikeway connection projects.
