OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE
IN THE TRANSIT SERVICES FUND FOR THE
PURCHASE OF PARATRANSIT MINI-BUSES
AND VANS FOR CARE-A-VAN, INC.
WHEREAS, the City contracts annually with Care-A-Van, Inc. , to provide
paratransit services to citizens of Fort Collins; and
WHEREAS, said paratransit services are designed to provide door-to-door
transportation for the disabled, seniors and others in the Fort Collins
community; and
WHEREAS, the City made application for grant money totalling THREE HUNDRED
TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND ONE DOLLAR ($326,001) in 1991 with the Federal Transit
Administration (FTA) for the purchase of ten (10) new mini -buses and vans ; and
WHEREAS, the local match for the applied funds is ONE HUNDRED EIGHT
THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN DOLLARS ($108,667) and is to be provided by
Care-A-Van, Inc. ; and
WHEREAS, the City has received notice that the U.S. Department of
Transportation has approved the City' s request for the aforementioned grant; and
WHEREAS, the City, as a governmental entity, must act as the receiver and
disburser of said grant monies on behalf of Care-A-Van, Inc. ; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 14, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
authorizes the City Council to appropriate unanticipated revenues which are the
result of new revenue sources at any time during the year in which such revenue
is received.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that upon the City' s receipt of the sum of THREE HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND ONE
DOLLAR (S326,001) in Federal Transit Administration funds from the U.S.
Department of Transportation and ONE HUNDRED EIGHT THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SIXTY-
SEVEN DOLLARS ($108,667) from Care-A-Van, Inc. , for a total of FOUR HUNDRED
THIRTY-FOUR THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SIXTY-EIGHT DOLLARS ($434,668) , said sum is
appropriated for expenditure from unanticipated revenue in the Transit Services
Fund for the purchase of ten (10) new mini -buses and vans.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published
this 17th day of March, A.D. 1992, and to be presented for final passage on the
7th day of April , A.D. 1992.
