OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND
FOR THE LARIMER COUNTY DRUG TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Program awarded a federal grant
in the amount of$105,804 to Fort Collins Police Services; and
WHEREAS, this grant is to be used by the Larimer County Drug Task Force (the "Task
Force") to help fund the investigation of illegal narcotics activities in Larimer County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins will administer the grant for the Task Force which
includes Fort Collins Police Services, Loveland Police Department, Larimer County Sheriff's
Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Colorado State University Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, the grant will be used to pay for supplies and operating costs of the Colorado
State University detective, for the purchase of narcotics from drug dealers by undercover police
officers, and to pay for overtime costs incurred during drug task force operations; and
WHEREAS,Article V, Section 9, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City
Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,
provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous
appropriations for the fiscal year, does not exceed the current estimate of actual and anticipated
revenues to be received during the fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated grant revenue in the General Fund
the sum of ONE HUNDRED FIVE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FOUR DOLLARS
($105,804) for expenditure upon receipt from the Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Program
in the General Fund for Police Services for the Larimer County Drug Task Force Grant Project.
Introduced and considered favorably on first reading and ordered published this 20th day of
September, A.D. 2005, and to be presented for final passage on the 4th day of October, A.D. 2005.
