OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE GENERAL FUND AND THE
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FUND, TRANSFERRING APPROPRIATED AMOUNTS
FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO THE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FUND, AND
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FUND
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 8, of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins permits the Council to appropriate reserves accumulated in prior
years at any time during the year; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 15, of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins permits the Council to appropriate unanticipated revenue received
at any time during the year and to transfer unexpended, appropriated
amounts from one fund to another; and
WHEREAS, excessive snowfall has created a need to respond to health
and safety matters of the citizens of Fort Collins ; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to provide payment for timely and efficient
removal of the snow; and
WHEREAS, funds are available from General Fund prior year reserves,
Transportation Services prior year reserves, and appropriated amounts in
the General Fund for snow removal .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS:
1. That there is hereby appropriated from prior year reserves in the
General Fund the sum of TWO HUNDRED ELEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($211,000) for
transfer to the Transportation Services Fund and appropriated for
expenditure in the Transportation Services Fund for snow removal .
2. That there is hereby appropriated for transfer from the General Fund
to the Transportation Services Fund the sum of SIXTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS
($16,000) of existing appropriations and appropriated for expenditure in
the Transportation Services Fund for snow removal .
3. That there is hereby appropriated from prior year reserves in the
Transportation Services Fund the sum of TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($23,000) for expenditure in the Transportation Services Fund for snow
removal .
4. That the immediate adoption of this Ordinance is necessary to
preserve, protect and advance the general welfare of the residents of the
City of Fort Collins and the Council hereby determines that an emergency
exists to provide for snow removal , affecting the health, safety and
welfare of all citizens, requiring the immediate passage of this Ordinance;
and this Ordinance is therefore enacted pursuant to Article II, Section 6,
of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins as an emergency Ordinance and
shall be effective upon its passage.
Introduced, considered favorably by 6 members of the Council of the
City of Fort Collins and finally passed as an emergency ordinance and
ordered published this 17th day of December, A.D. 1985. ,p
