OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL
FUND FOR POLICE SERVICES AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER
OF APPROPRIATED AMOUNTS BETWEEN ACCOUNTS AND PROJECTS
WHEREAS,Article V, Section 14, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins (the "Charter")
permits the City Council to appropriate by ordinance unanticipated revenue which is the result of rate
or fee increases or new revenue sources at any time during the year in which such revenue is
received; and
WHEREAS,Fort Collins Police Services has been awarded a grant of federal money in the
amount of$23,055 through the Colorado Division of Criminal Justice; and
WHEREAS, this grant is to be used by Fort Collins Police Services' for the Multi-
jurisdictional Grant which investigates illegal narcotics activities in Latimer County; and
WHEREAS, this grant requires $84,471 of City matching funds, which have been included
in Police Services' 1996 budget for this purpose and are available for transfer to the Multi-
jurisdictional Grant Project; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 14,of the Charter authorizes the City Council to transfer by
ordinance, any unexpended appropriated amounts or portion thereof from one fund to another upon
the recommendation of the City Manager, provided that the purpose for which the funds were
initially appropriated remains unchanged.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That, upon receipt, there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from
unanticipated grant revenue in the General Fund the sum of TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND
FIFTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($23,055)for expenditure in the General Fund for the Fort Collins Police
Services' Multi jurisdictional Grant Project.
Section 2. That the unexpended appropriated amount of EIGHTY FOUR THOUSAND
FOUR HUNDRED SEVENTY-ONE DOLLARS ($84,471) is authorized for transfer from the
Police Services operating budget to the Multi jurisdictional Grant Project.
