OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED GRANT REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND
FOR POLICE SERVICES FOR THE LARIMER COUNTY
MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL DRUG TASK FORCE
WHEREAS,for the past 16 years,Fort Collins Police has worked with other members of the
LCDTF to include the Loveland Police Department, Larimer County Sheriff's Department, Drug
Enforcement Administration(DEA),and the Colorado State University Police Department,in drug
enforcement in Larimer County; and
WHEREAS,the City of Fort Collins Police Services has received a grant from the Executive
Office of the President, Office of National Drug Control Policy, in the amount of$32,680, for the
Larimer County Drug Task Force (the "LCDTF"); and
WHEREAS,the funds will be used to purchase police radios and digital cameras to be used
by the LCDTF for communication and evidence collection; and
WHEREAS,Article V,Section 9,of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City
Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,
provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous
appropriations for that fiscal year,does not exceed the then current estimate of actual and anticipated
revenues to be received during the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS,City staff has determined that the appropriation of the Executive Office of the
President,Office of National Drug Control Policy Grant funds as described herein will not cause the
total amount appropriated in the General Fund to exceed the current estimate of actual and
anticipated revenues to be received in the General Fund during 2003.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated grant revenue in the General Fund
the sum of THIRTY-TWO THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS ($32,680) for
expenditure in the General Fund for Police Services to purchase equipment for the Larimer County
Drug Task Force.
