OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL
FUND FOR THE POLICE SERVICES SAFETY BELT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Fort Collins Police Services has been awarded a grant in the amount of$6,000
from the Colorado Department of Transportation for a safety belt program; and
WHEREAS, the safety belt program is for the promotion of seat belt and child safety seat
use in Colorado and the enforcement of laws concerning use of occupant protection restraints; and
WHEREAS, Council adopted Resolution 98-15; on November 17, 1998, approving and
authorizing the Mayor to execute the grant agreement between the City and the Colorado
Department of Transportation for the safety belt program; and
WHEREAS,Article V, Section 9,of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City
Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,
provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous
appropriations for that fiscal year, do not exceed the then current estimate of actual and anticipated
revenues to be received during the fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from unanticipated revenue in the
General Fund the sum of SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS ($6,000)in the grant account for the Fort
Collins Police Services promotion of seat belt and child safety seat use and the enforcement of laws
concerning the use of occupant protection restraints in motor vehicles.
