OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES
IN THE TRANSIT SERVICES FUND
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 7, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
(the "Charter") authorizes the City to provide by ordinance for the payment of
any expenses from reserves accumulated in prior years notwithstanding that such
reserves were not appropriated for expenditure in the annual appropriation
ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) required communities
with a fixed route bus system to provide paratransit services; and
WHEREAS, the City's_ Dial-A-Ride program has been serving the transportation
needs of ADA eligible persons with disabilities and those sixty years and older;
and
WHEREAS, the City's actual cost of providing the Dial -A-Ride program in
1994 has exceeded anticipated costs for this program; and
WHEREAS, based on the latest estimates, staff anticipates that Dial-A-Ride
ridership will exceed 64,000 rides in 1994, creating the need for additional
appropriations to cover the cost of providing this service; and
WHEREAS, staff has identified available funds totalling $42,839 in the
Transit Services Fund, from prior year reserves.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS,
that there is hereby appropriated for expenditure from prior year reserves in the
Transit Services Fund the sum of FORTY-TWO THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED THIRTY-NINE
DOLLARS ($42,839) to be used for providing services associated with the Dial-A-
Ride program.

this 6th day of December, A.D. 1994, and to be present final pas on the
20th day of December, A.D. 1994.
