OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING THE GENERAL FORM FOR PETITIONS
FOR NOMINATION FOR CITY COUNCIL OFFICE
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Fort Collins provides that the City
Council shall prescribe by ordinance, upon recommendation of the City Clerk, a
general form of petition, which shall contain warnings and notices to signers as
necessary, for circulation and filing by petitioners for nominating candidates
for City Council office; and
WHEREAS, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No. 79, 1987, which
adopted a general form for petitions for nomination for City Council office; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has recommended that the general form for petitions
for nomination for City Council office be amended; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to approve the amended general form for
petitions for nomination for City Council office as set forth in the form
recommended by the City Clerk entitled "Nomination Petition, Revised March 3,
1992" which form is available for public inspection and distribution in the
office of the City Clerk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
as follows:
Section 1 . That the general form of petition for nomination for City
Council office shall be amended as set forth in the form entitled "Nomination
Petition, revised March 3, 1992," which form is available for public inspection
and distribution in the office of the City Clerk.
Section 2. That the City Clerk be, and hereby is, directed to have a
sufficient quantity of petition forms printed for distribution, upon request, to
any individual seeking to qualify for candidacy for City Council office pursuant
to the requirements of the City Charter.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published
this 18th day of February, A.D. 1992, and to be presented for final passage on
the 3rd day of March, A.D. 1992.
