OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING DIVISION 4 OF ARTICLE VI OF CHAPTER 26
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATING
TO THE CITY ELECTRIC UTILITY AND RATES
FOR SERVICES FROM SUCH UTILITY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows:
Section 1 . That Subparagraphs (c) and (e) of Section 26-464 (Residential
energy service) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins are hereby amended to
read as follows:
(c) Monthly rate. The monthly rates for this schedule are as
follows:
(1) Fixed charge, per account: Two dollars and twenty cents
($2.20) .
(2) Demand charge, per kilowatt-hour: Two and seventy-six one-
hundredths cents ($0.0276) .
(3) Distribution facilities charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and
three-tenths cents ($0.013) .
(4) Energy charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and forty-four one-
hundredths cents ($0.0144) .
(5) In lieu of taxes and franchise, the rate shall be six and
zero-tenths (6.0) percent of all charges billed pursuant to
this Section.
(e) Service charge. There shall be a service charge of fifteen
dollars and eighty-seven cents ($15.87) for the processing of a request
for electrical service under this schedule except where the request is
made for after-hours service, in which case the service charge shall be
forty dollars and sixty-four cents ($40.64) . The service charge is
further applicable for a special meter reading and/or fractional period
billing.
Section 2. That Subparagraphs (c) and (e) of Section 26-465 (Residential
demand service) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins are hereby amended to
read as follows:
(c) Monthly rate. The monthly rates are as follows:
(1) Fixed charge, per account: Three dollars and fifty-two cents
($3.52) .
(2) Demand charge, per kilowatt: Three dollars and sixty-six
cents ($3.66) .
(3) Distribution facilities charge, per kilowatt-hour: Zero and
forty-eight one-hundredths cents ($0.0048) .
(4) Energy charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and forty-four one-
hundredths cents ($0.0144) .
(5) In lieu of taxes and franchise the rate shall be six and zero-
tenths (6.0) percent of charges billed.
(e) Service charge. There shall be a service charge of fifteen
dollars and eighty-seven cents ($15.87) for the processing of a request
for electrical service under this schedule except where the request is
made for after-hours service, in which case the service charge shall be
forty dollars and sixty-four cents ($40.64) . The service charge is

dollar and eighty-three cents ($1 .83) .
(3) Distribution facilities charge, per kilowatt-hour: Zero and
forty-eight one-hundredths cents ($0.0048) .
(4) Energy charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and forty-four one-
hundredths cents ($0.0144) .
(5) In lieu of taxes and franchise the rate shall be six and zero-

Subparagraphs (g) through (n) are relettered as subparagraphs (f) through (m)
respectively:

follows:

(1) Fixed charge, per account:
a. Single-phase, two-hundred-ampere service: Two dollars
and seventy-two cents ($2.72) .
b. Single-phase, above two-hundred-ampere service: Seven
dollars and fifteen cents ($7.15) .
c. Three-phase, two-hundred-ampere service: Five dollars
and twenty-three cents ($5.23) .
d. Three-phase, above two-hundred-ampere service: Nine
dollars and twelve cents ($9. 12) .
(2) Demand charge, per kilowatt-hour:
a. First two thousand (2,000) kilowatt-hours: Three and
twenty-one-hundredths cents ($0.0321) .
b. Next five thousand (5,000) kilowatt-hours: One and
eighty-seven one-hundredths cents ($0.0187) .
c. All additional kilowatt-hours: Zero ($0.00) .
(3) Demand charge, per kilowatt:
a. All kilowatts billed in excess of twenty-five (25)
kilowatts: Five dollars and nineteen cents ($5. 19) .
(4) Distribution facilities charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and
fifty-seven one-hundredths cents ($0.0157) .
(5) Energy charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and forty-four one-
hundredths cents ($0.0144) .
(6) In lieu of taxes and franchise, the rate shall be six and
zero-tenths (6.0) percent of all charges billed pursuant to
this Section.

and eighty-three cents ($5.83) .
d. Three-phase, above two-hundred-ampere service: Nine
dollars and seventy-two cents ($9.72) .
(2) Demand charge, per kilowatt:
a. On-peak kilowatts:
1 . First twenty-five (25) kilowatts: Six dollars and
thirty-one cents ($6.31) .
2. All additional kilowatts: Five dollars and nineteen
cents ($5.19) .
b. Off-peak kilowatts in excess of on-peak kilowatts: Two
dollars and sixty cents ($2.60) .
(3) Distribution facilities charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and
fifty-seven one-hundredths cents ($0.0157) .
(4) Energy charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and forty-four one-
hundredths cents ($0.0144) .
(5) In lieu of taxes and franchise, the rate shall be six and
zero-tenths (6.0) percent of all the charges billed pursuant
to this Section.

($9. 12) .

(2) Demand charge, per kilowatt: Eight dollars and one cent
($8.01) .
(3) Distribution facilities charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and
twenty-five one-hundredths cents ($0.0125) .
(4) Energy charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and forty-four one-
hundredths cents ($0.0144) .
(5) In lieu of taxes and franchise, the rate shall be six and
zero-tenths (6.0) percent of all the charges billed pursuant
to this Section.
(e) Standby service (contingency service provisions) . Standby
service, as available, will be provided on an annual contract basis at a
level at least sufficient to meet probable service demand as determined by
the customer and approved by the utility. The monthly charge shall be
four dollars and forty-nine cents ($4.49) per kilowatt of standby
capacity. This charge shall be in lieu of the distribution facilities
charge. For all metered kilowatts in excess of the contracted amount, the
unit charge per kilowatt shall be thirteen dollars and forty-seven cents
($13.47) . In the event the contractual kilowatt amount is exceeded, the
beginning date of the contract will be reset. The first month of the new
contract period will become the current billing month with that month' s
metered demand becoming the minimum allowable contract demand for the
standby service. Requests for standby service may be subject to a waiting
period. An operation and maintenance charge may be applied for special
facilities required to provide standby service.
(f) Service charge. There shall be a service charge of fifty-
three dollars and ninety cents ($53.90) for the processing of a request
for electrical service under this schedule. The service charge is further
applicable for a special meter reading and/or fractional period billing.
Section 7. That Subparagraphs (c) , (e) and (f) of Section 26-470 (General
service 50 time-of-demand) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins are hereby
amended to read as follows:
(c) Monthly rate. The monthly rates for this schedule are as
follows:
(1) Fixed charge, per account: Nine dollars and seventy-two
cents ($9.72) .
(2) Demand charge, per kilowatt:
a. On-peak kilowatts: Eight dollars and one cent ($8.01) .
b. Off-peak kilowatts, in excess of on-peak kilowatts: Four
dollars and one cent ($4.01) .
(3) Distribution facilities charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and
twenty-five one-hundredths cents ($0.0125) .

(4) Energy charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and forty-four one-
hundredths cents ($0.0144) .

a. Additional charge for each additional metering point:
Thirty-one dollars and eighty-seven cents ($31 .87) .
(2) Demand charge, per kilowatt: Ten dollars and sixty-seven
cents ($10.67) .
(3) Distribution facilities charge, per kilowatt-hour: Zero and
forty-seven one-hundredths cents ($0.0047) .
(4) Energy charge, per kilowatt-hour: One and forty-four one-
hundredths cents ($0.0144) .
(5) In lieu of taxes and franchise, the rate shall be six and
zero-tenths (6.0) percent of all the charges billed pursuant
to this Section.

Section 10. That Subparagraphs (b) and (c) of Section 26-473 (Special area
floodlighting) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins are hereby amended to read
as follows:
(b) Monthly rate. The monthly rates are as follows:
(1) Charge per lamp, mercury vapor:
a. One-hundred-seventy-five-watt: Twelve dollars and fifty-
four cents ($12.54) .
b. Two-hundred-fifty-watt: Fourteen dollars and seventy-
five cents ($14.75) .
c. Four-hundred-watt: Nineteen dollars and twenty-seven
cents ($19.27) .
(2) Charge per lamp, high-pressure sodium:
a. One-hundred-watt: Seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) .
b. One-hundred-fifty-watt: Eleven dollars and eighty-eight
cents ($11 .88) .
c. Two-hundred-fifty-watt: Fifteen dollars and nine cents
($15.09) .
d. Four-hundred-watt: Nineteen dollars and eighty-seven
cents ($19.87) .
(c) Service charge. There shall be a service charge of six
dollars and twenty cents ($6.20) for the initiation of a floodlighting
account under this schedule.
Section 11 . That Subparagraph (c) of Section 26-474 (Traffic signal
service) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins is hereby amended to read as
follows:

(c) Monthly rate. The monthly rates are as follows:
(1) Fixed charge, per account: Fifty dollars and ninety-eight
cents ($50.98) .
(2) Charge, per kilowatt-hour: Four and two-hundred sixty-one
one-thousandths cents ($0.04261) .
(3) Equipment rental charges, when applicable, will be determined
by cost analysis by the utility. Service extensions and
signal installations made by the utility shall be paid for by
the city general fund, subject to material and installation
costs at the time of installation.
Section 12. That the amended rates and charges recited herein shall be
imposed on all billings rendered on or after February 1, 1993, relating to
services provided during the month of January, 1993.
