OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATING
TO THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
WHEREAS, on July 3, 1990, the City Council adopted Resolution 90-100
establishing a policy for the elimination of alternate positions on boards
and commissions; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 90-100 provides that the Council liaison assigned
to each board or commission which currently has alternate positions shall
make a recommendation for changes in the composition of the board or
commission to which he or she is assigned, in order to achieve the eventual
elimination of alternate positions; and
WHEREAS, the Council liaison to the Zoning Board of Appeals is
recommending that the two (2) alternate positions on the Zoning Board of
Appeals be converted to regular positions, thereby changing the composition
of the Board from five (5) regular members and two (2) alternate members to
seven (7) regular members.
NOW, TH EREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that Section 2-442 of the Code relating to the Zoning Board of
Appeals be amended to read as follows:
Sec. 2-442. Membership; term.
(a) The board shall consist of seven (7) members appointed by
the City Council . Appointments shall specify the term of office
of each individual in order to achieve overlapping tenure.
(b) Each member shall serve a term of four (4) years without
compensation. All members shall be subject to removal by the
City Council . If a vacancy occurs on the board, it shall be
filled by the City Council for the remaining unexpired portion of
the term.
