OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
ADOPTING THE GENERAL FORM FOR PETITIONS
FOR NOMINATION FOR CITY COUNCIL OFFICE
WHEREAS, on March 3, 1987, the voters of the City of Fort Collins
adopted an amendment to the City Charter relating to municipal elections;
and
WHEREAS, the Charter provision adopted by the electors specifies that
the City Council shall prescribe by ordinance, upon recommendation of the
City Clerk, a general form of petition, which shall contain warnings and
notices to signers as necessary, for circulation and filing by petitioners
for nominating candidates for City Council office; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has recommended a general form for petitions
for nomination for City Council office, which general form is set forth in
a form entitled "Nomination Petition. "
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows:
Section 1. That the general form of petition for nomination for City
Council office shall be as set forth in the form entitled "Nomination
Petition, " which form is available for public inspection and distribution
in the office of the City Clerk.
Section 2. That the City Clerk be, and hereby is, directed to have a
sufficient quantity of petition forms printed for distribution, upon
request, to any individual seeking to qualify for candidacy for City
Council office pursuant to the requirements of the City Charter.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered
published this 5th day of May, A.D. 1987, and to be presented for final
passage on the 19th day of May, A.D. 1987.
