RE: Foundation Inspections. Footings and Wall, Garage at 417 North Grant Avenue, Fort Collins. CO.
REI Proiect 16-081
Robinson Engineering, Inc. was asked by the owner, Torey Lenoch to review garage plans by an architect resulting
in our signing and stamping the plans. The garage excavation was over dug with respect to depth, but after exploring
an option, returned to the stamped design with the garage over excavation filled and compacted. The review was in
October 2016.
In early November 2016, I inspected the garage footings prior to concrete placement. The forms appeared to match
the dimensions on the plans. The continuous rebar and verticals were correctly spaced and installed. The footer
preparation met the intent of our design.
A few days later I returned to the site and inspected the wall forms. Again, the forms appeared to meet the geometry
of the plans. The vertical and horizontal rebar grid was tied to the footer verticals. Anchors were on sight ready to
stab. Everything I observed indicated that the foundation met the intent of the specified design.
In my opinion, as a structural engineer, having reviewed the garage foundation plans then visited the site several
times during construction, that the foundation meets the intent of the plan specifications. It is my opinion that the
garage foundation will provide support for the site loads for the design life of the structure.
